The first time country star Jerrod Niemann and his then-girlfriend Morgan Petek broke up, it was because Niemann didn't want to put a ring on it. He was a legendary foot-dragger. Niemann wasn't sure. Petek threatened to move home to Atlanta. Then she thought India might be nice. Niemann called her bluff, which turned out to be a mistake. If you're not going to move home to Atlanta, which is a four-hour drive, you're not going to move to India.

Petek moved to India and worked at a leper colony, where there were no cellphones. The second time they broke up, Petek went to London to get her master's degree.

Last month, they got married in Puerto Rico. Petek inspired some of the best songs on Niemann's album "High Noon," which was released last spring.
